Performance
The Hornet has two engine options for customers in Saugerties to consider:
- Standard Hornet GT 2.0-liter turbo I-4 engine (265 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque)
- Available Hornet R/T 1.3-liter four-cylinder plug-in hybrid engine (288 combined horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque)
The Hornet GT comes standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission, while the Hornet R/T powertrain comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission. Both the Hornet GT and Hornet R/T come standard with all-wheel drive.
Hornet GT models have an EPA-estimated city fuel economy of 21 miles per gallon, a highway fuel economy of 29 miles per gallon, and a combined fuel economy of 24 miles per gallon. We do not yet know what the fuel economy of the PHEV Hornet R/T will be. However, the Hornet R/T battery can be fully recharged in just two-and-a-half hours from the comfort of your home when you install an available 7.4-kilowatt Level II charger.
